Follow these simple steps to install your CartGuard 360° prototype

What's Included
  • 1x CartGuard 360° Honeycomb Disc (2.5" diameter)
  • 1x White ribbon loop for attachment

Installation Steps

Open Your Trash Can Lid
Fully open the lid of your trash can or garbage cart

Make sure you have clear access to the inside of the can and the center molding where the lid attaches to the body.

Thread the Ribbon Through the Disc
Pass one end of the ribbon through the large center hole of the disc

The honeycomb disc has a large center hole designed for the ribbon to pass through easily.

Wrap Around Center Post
Loop the ribbon around the center molding at the back of the can

Position the ribbon around the center post (the structural piece where the lid hinges), NOT around the handle pieces. The ribbon should sit on the rim of the cart body.

Important: Make sure the ribbon wraps around the center post only, not the hinge handles. This ensures the disc hangs properly inside the can.

Create Self-Securing Loop
Loop the ribbon end back through itself to create a self-cinching knot

After wrapping around the center post, take the ribbon end and loop it back through the ribbon loop above the disc. This creates a simple self-tightening knot that secures the disc in place without any tools.

Adjust Position
Position the disc to hang approximately 3 inches below the rim

Adjust the ribbon length so the disc hangs freely inside the can, about 3 inches below the top rim. The disc should not touch the bottom of the can or any trash.

Close the lid and let CartGuard 360° do its work

The disc will immediately begin releasing its 3-in-1 formula. You should notice improved odor control and reduced pest activity within the first day of use.

Tips & Troubleshooting

💡 Best Practices

  • Install the disc when the trash can is empty for easier access
  • Make sure the disc hangs freely and doesn't touch the trash
  • The disc works best in enclosed spaces (lid closed)
  • Replace the disc when you notice the scent fading

🔧 Common Issues

  • Disc falls off: Make sure the ribbon loop is tight around the center post
  • Not enough scent: Position the disc closer to the top of the can
  • Ribbon breaks: Contact us for a replacement ribbon
